Terms of service
These terms cover the relationship between Catena (the service provider) and you (the client). They are deliberately concise -- the engagement letter you sign at signup is the canonical contract; this page summarizes its main commitments.

Service scope
The subscription, Catena Pro or Catena Business -- one flat price per server, unlimited apps -- defines what is included, with hands-on support billed hourly as used. See the pricing section for the public model. Changes to scope are agreed in writing.
Pricing and billing
The managed subscription is one flat retainer per server, billed monthly, with no minimum term. Hands-on support is billed at the published rate in 15-minute increments, as used. Payment and sales tax via Polar, the merchant of record.
Data ownership
All client data, infrastructure, and credentials belong to the client and stay on the client's own server and accounts. Our role is service provider only. Export and migration need nothing from us.
Limitation of liability
Liability is capped at amounts proportionate to the most recent monthly retainer; the binding limits are set out in your engagement letter.
Service levels
Target uptime, response times, and recovery objectives for restore drills are set out in your engagement letter and reviewed at the quarterly check-in.
Acceptable use
No illegal content, no unsolicited bulk email (spam), no malware distribution, no resale of the suite as-a-service to third parties without prior agreement. Standard internet-services posture.
Termination
Either party may terminate per the engagement letter. The suite, its data and its backups stay with the client: nothing needs handing over.
Per-service terms
Each upstream app in the suite carries its own license and acceptable-use policy (Nextcloud GPL, Rocket.Chat MIT, Euro Office AGPL, etc.). Each upstream's official terms are linked from that app's documentation.
Governing law
Quebec, Canada. Disputes go to the courts of the judicial district of Montreal.
